i assume that you can use a uk license in europe, so what countrys do you need an international one for ?

International ones?

I THINK you're ok with your UK one. When I was in Europe, you could rent a car with a valid US license, so I imaging it's even more lax for EU drivers...

The AA and RAC both have good information about driving/riding abroad on their websites. The country specific travel advice on the Foreign Office's website also tends to give information on licenses and insurance requirements.

You have actually reminded me that I need to apply for one. The only country I shall be visiting that requires one is Albania.

Russia require one. You are absolutely correct, EU countries do not require one.

I would think that most countries (other than EU and some neighbours) would want you to have one.
