I thought the phono connection on the back of a radio was just for a subwoofer?
I think the 'official' way to do it would be to wire in the speakers to the multi wire plug which goes into the back of the radio. Though I know the phono subwoofer thing could work, I use it to play my iPod through, and sound just comes out of the rear channels.
For a botch job, buy a 2 or 3 metre long phono jack cable. Then cut off the jacks on one end, strip back the insulation, and twist the wire onto the wire coming from the speakers. Insulate it with some electrical tape.
That could do it, but I'm not sure if it would allow all 4 channels to work at the same time. |

Your head unit should have a black block connector on the back with power, earth, remote, front and rear speakers etc...
The phono connection (RCA) is for connection to an amp.
Take a look at the wires coming off the black connector, you'll notice there are pair in 4 different colours (ie: Purple - Purple/white etc..) they are the + and - for each speaker. If you have a manual then look in there for what colours are to go to what speaker, if not, you can download all manuals from JVC web site.
